Cathedral Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Spain
Artist: p.Marko Ivan Rupnik, Centro Aletti i p.Joseph Paco Suarez
Production: Bokart, 2023.

The Cathedral of Saint Domingo in Northern Spain has been home to Saint Domingo for 900 years now and also a symbolic point for the pilgrims that venture on El Camino de Santiago. The reconstruction of the Cathedral took place several years ago and has finally been finished with 16 new windows that accompany the recently placed mosaics.
Hand-painted glass with ceramic colors, security tempered and laminated glass made in single piece unit has been placed under new stainless steel frames.

Painted in several layers, sandblasted and finished off with a colored lamination process, the glass has a translucent form and provides for light transmission in the church. As the Cathedral is located on the pilgrims’ path, the artist has managed to send a message of encouragement and love of Spirito Santo to accompany them on their journey.
